The front walkway.

This is the time I always call "the last hurrah of summer." School starts just a little bit too soon -- just when the weather is hot and steamy, and it would be perfect just to kick back with a good book and let the afternoon drift by. The garden is at its peak -- yesterday I saw a little territorial skirmish between two hummingbirds. As if there weren't more than enough goodies out there for both of them and all of their kin!
